Newcastle supports the Aboriginal People
Newcastle City Council congratulates the Australian Government on the eve of its historic apology to the Aboriginal Stolen Generations.
How pleasing to see that Council unanimously supported the long overdue apology to the Stolen Generations. Perhaps Councillor Osborne said it all the most succinctly - but all the speakers gave me heart for our future relations with the First Australians. The other day I read somewhere that 'Apology is the superglue of our society, for it fixes just about everything.' So long as the Apology is the genuine article, I'd go along with that!
